			morella's forest interview by Heather Devera © Fall 2001 seriously, after all this time of commitment to morella’s forest, doesn’t the chic-fronted band label bother you? does the chic fronted band title bother me? i don’t really think about it. no one really pushes it on us. that i know about. lots of people dig the chic fronted bands. guys like something perty to look at and the chick like someone to compare themselves to. i think it has helped us more than it has hurt us. which personal demons keep you from your music? what do you mean by demons? my life in general keeps me at times from my music. trying to support my family working a real job. keeps me from music. music does not pay the bills. sometimes i think i am not a good songwriter and that plays with my mind on if music is what i should work towards. i question God all the time on if i am supposed to be putting in all this time on music. what other creative medium would you be using if it weren’t for music? i like photography, i would love to get into that. taking bands pics. i always have ideas for that. syd is already into photography, but i have never seen any of her pics. jesse sprinkle is a great photographer, he has a great eye. has any of the morella’s forest members thought of going solo? i wanted to - timo my electronic project is the closest i have ever got. syd talked about it but never did it. i think she was joking around. i have to admit, i do miss the original mofo. do you think the original gang will reunite? And who makes up the new unit? No, the old mofo will never unite permanently, we may do a show sometime but the band will never go back to the originals. jesse spinkle plays drums and joel votaw plays bass. the live show is the best we have ever sounded its great. jesse and joel also play on the new stuff. sean is not playing music at all anymore and nate lives in los angeles now. playing in a band. last romantic comedy you saw and did you enjoy it? my wife and i saw french kiss with meg ryan and kevin cline. we have seen it a millions times, but its always good. meg ryan is adorable. don’t tell my wife. ha ha game show the band would cash in on: the game show would be 80's trivia. we are big on all the 80's bands. one hit wonders down to the big ones. syd is getting sick of 80's though. best compliment ever said about your music it doesn’t sound like anyone i have ever heard. what do you classify it as? worst compliment ever said about your music i can’t understand a word you are singing about. your singer needs singing lessons. how should musicians unwind? usually TV at the hotel, some maybe a drink. i don&Mac226;t know if you should print that. shamelessly promote the next morella’s forest album. the new record is pop to the "T" great melodies and fun songs. uplifting music.
